Another in my 'Ultraviolence' series; a body of work looking deeper in the images and personalities in classical art and how much underlying violent acts feature in the classical stories.

Perseus was a Greek hero who slayed Medusa, this depiction can be found in the famous Cellini sculpture where he stands over a beheaded Medua, holding her head with blood gashing down.

This image was created in screenprint, 9 individual layers layered next to each other to create this fully formed, rounded portrait. It is finished off with hand-stencilled and spraypainted with metallic text.
